Lana Martell is a KRS consultant who helps coach salons and spas to achieve a higher level of profitability, consistency and professionalism. Prior to becoming a KRS consultant, Lana spent 23 years as a stylist, salon leader and field trainer with The Head Shoppe in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

After a successful career in the beauty industry, Lana now coaches other people to achieve the same success.

Lana lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is a licensed Master Hairdresser.

Heather is a KRS consultant, salon and cosmetology school owner. Heather's enthusiasm and passion for organizational development is instrumental in leading salons to consistently deliver management solutions that drive growth and achieve organizational effectiveness.

Prior to joining KRS, Heather was an Association Executive with SmithBucklin Corporation, the world's largest association management firm serving as the Executive Director of the Orthopedic Nursing Certification Board (ONCB), Executive Director of The Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, Operations Manager for the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses (SGNA), and Program Manager for the Society for Information Management (SIM).

Heather is a graduate of Auburn University with degrees in public relations and journalism and holds a certificate in association management from DePaul University.

Glenn is Vice-President and partner with the Head Shoppe Co. Ltd. group of salons where he has been integral in growing sales and improving salon operations. As a member of Redken's National Performing Artists and a partner in Summit Salon Business College, Glenn educates D.S.C.s, Salon Owners and Stylists throughout Canada and the United States.

Don Bennett brings 21 years of experience in coaching and mentoring from the manufacturing world to the salon industry.

After working with a large company to stay within their budget guide lines and to show a profit, Don enjoys working with salon owners to realize profitability and keep the KRS vision alive and independent salons flourishing.

Don joined KRS as a consultant in early 2006; his reward is to watch each salon owner grow individually as a leader within their salon and to pass forward what knowledge they have learned to others so they can have a better quality of life.

Having grown up in the salon industry, Kimberli Bennett understands all aspects of owning a salon company.

Kimberli became a hairstylist in 1987 and joined her family as the third generation in the salon companies that they owned in Indiana.

In February of 2002, Kimberli stepped out from behind the chair and joined KRS Consulting as a full time consultant.

She is one of the owners of KRS Consulting as well as one of the Leaders on the KRS Leadership team. She now takes part in growing consultants as well as salon professionals.

Kimberli feels a great deal of pride toward the salon professionals she has had the opportunity to grow through KRS systems. Her biggest accomplishment is knowing she has had a part in growing service providers as well as salon owners and that through their willingness to grow they now experience more choices in life and bigger opportunities.

Jo Brooke has twenty-nine years in the beauty industry. Her passion is to grow service providers, focusing on hair.

Jo has actively been teaching the associate program for 10 years. She shares her time between consulting and Solutions Day Spa in Indiana, of which she is a shareholder.

Trista Clements is a KRS consultant who works with leaders of salon/spa companies who are ready to take life-changing action and create what they desire in their company. Trista helps service providers and support team members find what motivates them and empower them to make their dreams a reality.

Prior to becoming a KRS consultant, Trista spent over 20 years in salon education and sales. She started at the age of 17 as a salon stylist and realized a passion for teaching on stage. Later in her career, she worked with a major manufacturer in sales and marketing and with the largest distributor company in the USA as a corporate sales trainer.

After a successful career in salon education, sales and marketing Trista now coaches other people to achieve the same success. Trista specializes in leadership training and developing a strong team of leaders in the salon/spa companies she consults. Teaching strategies and skills to successful coach and mentor your salon team is Trista’s passion.

Trista lives in Tampa, Florida and is a stockholder of KRS Consulting Group and Summit Salon Business Center.


Roberta Dotson

Roberta Dotson

Roberta Dotson has been in the beauty industry for more than 38 years, working in many guises. She has owned a salon, served as an educator for Redken, and held corporate positions with both Redken and Marshall's Salon Services.

Roberta was first introduced to the KRS program through Michael Cole, who has been her mentor for the past 25 years. For the last 2 years Roberta has been working with salons to create a profitable business in which to grow service providers and help salon owners create exit strategies.



Tricia Durham

Tricia Durham is a KRS consultant who helps salons and spas to maximize their growth potential through leadership and personal development.

Prior to becoming a KRS consultant, Tricia spent multiple years as a stylist and co-owner of a large salon company. As a stylist, Tricia advanced from a Level 1 to Level 4A in 2 years, 10 months, and put Multiple associates on the floor through the use of the associate program.

After a successful career as a Level 4A stylist and Redken Master Specialist behind the chair, Tricia now coaches other people to achieve the same success.

Tricia lives in Citrus Springs, FL. She holds a Cosmetology license and is certificates as a Redken Specialist and Master Specialist.

Nicole Eicks, a stylist since 1992, opened her first company, Clipzone Salon and Remedy Spa in Anderson, Indiana in 1996. Clipzone currently has 9 stockholders and is home to a staff of over 30.

In 2005, Nicole opened The Salon Professional Academy in Anderson, Indiana.

As a salon consultant, Nicole is responsible for providing effective guidance and leadership to salon owners and service providers. Numerous salon companies have leveraged her entrepreneurial expertise to achieve success within their respective organizations.

Adopting the philosophy of growing her salon one service provider at a time, Nicole attributes Clipzone's success to her passion for the KRS systems, and the Associate Program in particular.





Ann-Marie Flores

Ann-Marie Flores is a KRS consultant who helps Salons and spas to have a future vision of growth and understanding of both the creative and financial sides of our industry.

Prior to becoming a KRS consultant, Ann-Marie was a Redken artist and spent fifteen years as a stylist behind the chair. She owns and operates a KRS salon and spa that opened in 2003.

After a successful career in commercial finance, banking, and employee relations, Ann-Marie has been able to join the creative world with the business world and now coaches other people to achieve
the same success.

Ann-Marie Flores lives in Queensbury, New York and is the owner of Studio71 Salon and Spa. Her salon was the recipient of the Rookie Business and Small Business of the Year award.


Sharmaine Giorgio

Sharmaine Giorgio brings over 23 years experience in the beauty industry as a nail technician, makeup artist, and salon owner. In 2004, she was fortunate to attend a business summit to learn the KRS systems. After implementing these systems in her own salon and spa, her company's growth has been tremendous. The associate program was instrumental in the hair and nail departments.

Sharmaine was asked to join the KRS consulting Group in 2006. Sharmaine enthuses that "being able to share my personal success with the program and give back to our industry by helping salon owners and their service providers to achieve their highest potential has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever been a part of."


MaryJune Jackson

MaryJune Jackson is a KRS consultant who helps salons and spas to meet their goals, achieve sustainable growth and develop a lasting legacy.

Prior to becoming a KRS consultant, MaryJune grew up in her family's salons and school. After working in her family's businesses since childhood, MaryJune graduated from college with a double major in Business Management and International Business, plus a minor in Entrepreneurship. She completed cosmetology school at her family's school and got her license in cosmetology.

MaryJune is an alumna of the Iowa State University chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta national women's fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi national co-ed business fraternity, and a founding member of the International Business Club at Iowa State University.

MaryJune currently lives in Tampa, FL and Ames, IA.

Michael is a Certified Public Accountant and the sole owner of Salon Consultants by Michael Kimble, P.C., an accounting firm located in Plainwell, Michigan.

Since 1989 Michael has specialized in accounting and consulting in the Salon Industry and worked with several hundred salons. He has extensive knowledge in the area of salon accounting, payroll tax, income tax and implementation of QuickBooks and accounting systems used in salons. He also has extensive knowledge in the application of KRS Consulting Group's budget guidelines in conjunction with the salon financials.

He has been working with several KRS salons independently since it was founded in 1993. Michael joined the KRS Consulting Group in August of 2006 as its accountant/consultant to help with the implementation of QuickBooks in KRS salons. He is offering accounting and tax preparation services to KRS salons in addition to QuickBooks implementations.

Since entering the salon industry in 1983, Dave has worn the hats of stylist, manager, business owner, educator and salon management consultant. He was an educator and consultant with Michael Cole's Salon Development Corporation for five years.

Dave joined KRS Consulting Group in 2002 and was named the company's "Consultant of the Year" in 2003.

Dave is now the President and CEO of KRS.

Randy Kunkel has over 30 years experience as a stylist, manager and multiple salon owner. Randy, along with his wife Sharon, founded KRS Consulting Group in 1993 to focus on issues related specifically to salon management and ownership.

Fourteen years later Randy is leading a team of nearly 50 KRS consultants along the front lines of innovative salon training and development. Hundreds of salons, spas and cosmetology schools have experienced utterly astounding improvement in sales, profits and teamwork thanks to Randy's guidance.

They are a testament to his expertise and desire to help others succeed. From complex ownership issues to the front desk, Randy has not only seen it all, he's helped others overcome it all.

Co-founder and co-owner of Hairazors Salon in Shorewood, Minnesota, Britta just celebrated its 10th successful year. Hairazors has been a client of the KRS system for eight years. Britta also a co-owner of The Salon Professional Academy, a beauty school in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Prior to joining KRS in 1999, Britta was a National Educator and Platform Artist for a leading national franchise. A gifted colorist and stylist, Britta received her training and certification at the Scot Lewis School of Beauty in Minneapolis in 1985.

Sharon Meier, 2005 KRS Consultant of the Year and KRS Shareholder, put in her time as a stylist for 25 years. For ten of those years, she was a performing artist with Redken NYC.

Throughout out the years, Sharon has also owned a salon, rented a booth, worked for someone else and in her last position, managed a 4000-square-foot day spa for the Orlando Magic workout facility. It was there that she found KRS and implemented the Summit system.

The subsequent success inspired her to join the KRS team as a consultant, where she has been helping other salons realize their dreams for the past 2 years.

Renae Mendall is a KRS consultant who helps salons and spas to walk through the door to their salons and have it be everything they had hoped and dreamed it would be at the time they first imagined it.

It is Renae’s intention to have salon understand the meaning of being in business for yourself – not by yourself.

Prior to becoming a KRS consultant, Renae spent many years as a hairstylist and salon owner. She has, throughout her career, worked as an educator with Michael Cole and others.

In the next stage of a successful career, Renae now coaches other people to achieve that same success.

Renae lives in New Jersey outside of New York and is the founding owner of Renae Mendall and company, Inc. She now is joined in that business by 2 shareholders.

Kierstin Nemer

Kierstin Nemer

Kierstin began working at Hair Success Salon and Day Spa, in Fargo North Dakota, in the spring of 1997 as a support staff team member. What at one time was a part-time after school job quickly grew into a career in an exciting and ever changing industry. When she was asked by the board of directors and the original founders of Hair Success Salon and Day Spa, Jodi Dahl & Jill Krahn, to become a shareholder in the company, she I gladly accepted. Through her success at the salon and day spa, she became a consultant for KRS and continues to maintain her board member status and ownership with Hair Success.

Kierstin attended the University of North Dakota, in Grand Forks North Dakota, and graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Political Science. Kierstin was accepted to law school and continued to work for the salon full-time, with a dream was to become a human rights activist using the aid of the law to help individuals who did not know how to help themselves.

Her career in the beauty industry today is not far off in relation to this dream. Her driving force remains the opportunity to help people change their life and increase the quality of life. Kierstin is passionate about helping salon owners of all shapes and sizes turn their own dreams into a reality.

Michael Nikolas is a KRS consultant who helps salons and spa’s achieve growth and profitability through working with owners and their staff with the KRS systems through gentle, kind and on-target delivery.

Prior to becoming a KRS consultant, Michael taught in a Beauty Academy in South Dakota, later moving to Minneapolis and to work in a salon, He then became District Manager of several salons while teaching interpersonal skills to hundreds of service providers. From there he opened his own salon in 1988. A few years after opening his first salon he bought a building and designed a new salon and spa, which he grew to over 40 staff members. Michael was introduced to the KRS program and experienced great success with it. He later went to work for KRS and took what he learned and applied it with salon owners and their staff, helping them to achieve their own successes.

Michael currently works with salons that are producing $20,000.00 a month to over $400,000.00 per month in gross revenues.

Michael lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is a stockholder with KRS Consulting and Summit Salon Business College.


Julie Oeffling

Julie works in the KRS main office handling the day-to-day activity of the business, from interviewing salon owners interested in the Summit Program to preparing materials to launch the new program in the salon.

Dedicated in helping the salon owner and all of the KRS, Julie joined KRS Consulting Group in January, 2004.

Mike Peters an the owner of Salon West Inc. in Largo, Florida. Salon West was the first salon to implement the KRS system before opening their doors for business. It was such a success from day one that Mike gave up his 23 year career as a public utilities contractor to keep up with the fast-growing salon. Mike and his wife Laura will open their second location in early summer 2007.

Mike's passion as a KRS consultant is helping salons and service providers reach their full potential with the KRS system. He has seen the difference it has made in the lives of his employees and their families and believes in passing it on.




Gavin E. Salsbery

Gavin Salsbery grew up in the salon and spa industry in Indiana. After graduating from Indiana University, Gavin moved to California to work for the world's first internet broadcast company, loadmedia, in Hollywood. Following his stint in California, Gavin moved back to Indiana to write and produce cable television commercials throughout the midwest for Insight Communications. It wasn't long before he got back into the salon industry and began consulting for KRS in 2003.

His expertise in business and marketing has helped grow sales and profits for small studio salons to major multi-million dollar salons and spas. Gavin also consults salon and spa organizations on corporate organization and leadership. He is a stockholder and a leadership team member in KRS and well as a stockholder in the Summit Salon Business College. The krssummitsalon website has been his newest labor of love.

He truly loves all aspects of the salon and spa industry and will continue to focus on helping one person at a time attempt to reach the summit in the beauty industry.

Jane Salsbery-Gibsonis a KRS consultant who helps salons and spas to learn systems and leadership skills to grow their companies.

Prior to becoming a KRS consultant, salon and school owner, Jane spent 25 years salon/spa owner.

After a successful career growing service providers, growing owners and salon leaders, Jane now coaches other people to achieve
the same success.

Jane lives in Kokomo, IN and is the owner of Solutions Day Spa and the Salon Professional Academy Jane was awarded the 2003 KRS Positive Mental Attitude Award and the 2004 KRS Consultant of the Year award. Jane has been successfully coaching and mentoring salons throughout the US for the last 10 years and is still passionate about her work.

Cindy Sanborn worked behind the chair as full time hairdresser and a nail tech for 16 years before becoming the owner of Salina Spa Salon in Elk River, MN. She met KRS Co-founder and owner Randy Kunkel in 1999, and since then has become a KRS Consultant in her own right as well an owner of the Salon Professional Academy in Waite Park, MN.

Cindy's extensive education includes training with Redken, Matrix,
and Paul Brown. She attended Graham Web Academy as well as the Aveda Academy for advanced training.

Cindy is committed to helping hairdressers grow in order to realize a better lives for themselves. She believes in creating a healthy culture in addition to profit growth, and has the tools to make it happen.

Michael Shea started in the industry at age 19, working in multiple salons including the Barbers Inc. He went on to open a salon with his then-wife.

After selling the salon and relocating to Seattle, Michael joined a NW distributor as Director of Marketing for 3 years. He did a stint outside the industry as Vice President of Sales for a leading video marketing firm, and in 2003, Michael joined KRS as a full-time Salon Consultant.

Now, along with wife Karen and partners, he is owner of a TSPA beauty school in Tacoma, WA. Michael lives in Seattle, WA.

Prior to becoming a KRS consultant, Angie spent 16 years as a stylist.After becoming a successful Salon and School owner, Angie now coaches other people to achieve the same success.

Angie Torgeson holds Cosmetology and Cosmetology Educator licenses and lives in Story City, Iowa, and is an owner of The Salon Professional Academy in Ames, Iowa and New Hope, Minnesota. She is also an owner of Finesse Spa Salon in Ames, Iowa, where she is growing stockholders.

Kristi Valenzuela is the founder and owner of Crystal Focus Coaching, Inc., a salon success company founded in 1993 focusing on "people skills for profitability." Her current efforts in offering internet education and telephone seminars for the salon industry has quickly gained global recognition.

As an in-demand international main stage business motivational speaker for REDKEN, she has been featured in several REDKEN videos, looked to as an expert in nearly every salon industry magazine, and her audios and books have been sold to salon professionals in 12 different countries.

Kristi remains committed to the authenticity of the "real world" by coaching and mentoring individual service providers, and conquering the challenges of independent salon owners through her work as an active KRS Consultant in Summit Salons. She is also a co-partner in Summit Salon Business College.

Jill Wilson is a licensed nail technician and instructor and Creative Nail Master Tech with over 12 years experience. She's a Level 4A and an owner of Snips SpaSalon in Bloomington, MN.

Jill helped co-write & launch the Nail Associate Program. This program changed her business and increased her income to over $10,000 a month.

She's been featured in Nails Magazine, Salon Today and has won awards for her add-on menus and additional services.

Educating nail technicians & taking their success to the next level is her passion.


MaLissa Young

MaLissa Young coaches more than thirty two service providers and support team at Snips Spa Salon in Bloomington, MN which is a KRS Consulting group affiliate. She grew up in a family salon business and has been employed with them for 17 years and is also now a major owner.

MaLissa holds a cosmetology license and has worked as a nail technician as well as a nail educator. This year MaLissa has become one of the owners of the Salon Professional Academy in St Cloud, MN.

MaLissa has been a KRS consultant for four years, fulfilling her passion of coaching others to achieve their goals, with her creative style of making a system work of every type of personality.
