Announcing SSBC Leadership Book Forum
By Heather Bagby
SSCG Consultant, Marti Nelson and SSBC Director of Communications, Heather Bagby will lead us through a book series designed to enhance your leadership skills. Making time to stay engaged in a book forum will improve your skill set and introduce you to new experiences and insights. Living in a world of uncertainty and constant economic change can force us to make short-term decisions that create devastating long-term effects to our culture. There has never been a time when the value of strong leaders is greater. A leader must know his or her morals and values and instinctively do the right things . . . day in and day out. Participate in the book forum and you will:
* Enhance leadership skills * Broaden perspectives * Gain exposure to new ideas and concepts through challenging new & old ways of thinking
The Book List: Quarter 1: Monday Morning Leadership by David Cottrell Quarter 2: Crucial Conversations by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMillian, & Al Switzler Quarter 3: Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Travis Bradberry & Jean Greaves Quarter 4: Strengths-Based Leadership by Tom Rath & Barry Conchie
Staying engaged in the leadership book forum is easy! We will open each quarter with an article and list of questions to follow while reading the book. Throughout each quarter, we will post comments and questions from participants to encourage group discussion. We will also feature SSBC leaders and consultants as they take the leadership book forum journey with you. No need to sign up, just participate and stay engaged! Remember, each year should be filled with new challenges - take this journey with us.
