Party or Profit? Both!

 If it’s Thursday in College Station TX, that means it’s time for “Chrome After Dark.” Sound like fun? It is!
Even better? It’s profitable!
Chrome: A Salon Experience is a Summit Salon that is enjoying double digit growth for two years going. The owner, Charlotte Green, was managing the salon at maximum capacity and was running out of stations. She wanted to add another shift but didn’t know where to put it. College Station, TX, is a college town and it reminded SSCG consultant MaLissa Young of another salon in a college town (Princeton, NJ) that stayed open until midnight two nights a week. These nights were a huge success, so MaLissa thought the idea might work at Chrome as well.
Charlotte agreed to try staying open late for 90 days and it too has been a hit. Chrome is now open until 11 PM every Thursday night – a time that would ordinarily be dead. They kicked off the new hours with several special promotions to create a buzz. First, they offered 50% off the first four weeks to anyone who came in “after dark.” They came up with several themes to create event-like evenings. For a fun, “party” atmosphere and added “Margarita Night.” On another Thursday night they served cheesecake from a local restaurant owner.
They gave the night a name: “Chrome After Dark,” and posted the week’s events on their Facebook page. So far, Thursday evenings have been popular, fun . . . and profitable!
